Flat Stanley’s Journey to Davos, Switzerland — Jan 13-14 2012

I had to go to Davos a week before the Annual Meeting to prepare a dinner that my company was hosting. Every year the World Economic Forum hosts an annual meeting for which the global powers-that-be descend on (or more accurately, ascend on) the Swiss ski resort. My best work colleague, Satu, and I decided to take Flat Stanlette with us as we knew how much she wanted to visit the mountains.

It is a long train ride to Davos, even on the always efficient Swiss rail system: about three hours to Zurich, then another hour to Landquart. Then the scenery changes to snow and mountains in the last hour, as we climb the mountain to our destination at Davos. I never saw so much snow in my life.
